Fifty years later - after opening a design school, a museum and gallery in New York City, and their own small town, the City of Porcelain where over 2,000 people work under what the brothers to be the best conditions possible for working in Porcelain - Lladro has developed a style that is uniquely their own, which can be identified by the sleek lines, classic poses, and soft colors used in most every piece produced by the sculpture house.
Lladro has truly established itself as one of the most prominent producers of fine collectible artwork. To underline this point, the were awarded the Prince Felipe Prize for Business Excellence, endorsed by the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Energy. This is the most prestigious award that can be given to a Spanish company.
